Fourteen young entrepreneurs, comprising students and alumni from SKEMA and its partner schools, participated in the SKEMA Ventures Bootstrap workshop in Sophia Antipolis between November 25 and 27.
The participants used this opportunity to strengthen their business models and prepare themselves for their entrepreneurial journey. They worked on fine-tuning their value propositions, identifying the most suitable market segments to launch their business and making choices regarding differentiation from their competitors. They also learned how to operate their business, among other things.
The workshop alternated between a mix of lectures by SKEMA Ventures director Philippe Chereau, coaching sessions from the SKEMA Ventures team, and testimonials from successful alumni. The participants learned from the experience of Alex Raffaitin, a co-founder of the gourmet fish-burger restaurant Père & Fish, and Audrey Lieutaud, the founder of the swimwear brand Monpetitbikini.
The projects were from a diverse range of fields such as technology product and services (Thibault Herpe and Gabriel Flores), travel apps (Ludivine Bourgeois), platforms (Marlo Cottin, Maxence Padua, Timothée Caron, Pierre Cailler, Lucie Vivarat, Zineb Larabi), innovative concepts in catering (Guillaume Lejeune, Sebastien Desfosses, Maxime Simeon), clothing (Maxime Vasserot) and Cleantech (Pierre Aguy).
On the third day of the Bootstrap workshop, the entrepreneurs got the opportunity to present their business model and a preliminary version of their business plan to a jury comprising academics, investors, incubators and entrepreneurs at Le Village by CA’s Sophia Antipolis branch. Everyone benefitted from the valuable feedbacks and resolved to implement them at the earliest.
