SKEMA Ventures Raleigh recently held the kickoff meeting to discuss the plan of action at SKEMA’s Raleigh, USA, campus. The guest speaker of the event was Cyril Vanneste, a BBA Corporate Finance student at SKEMA and co-founder of the Records Label Rock4You. At the meeting, which was attended by 58 students, plans for the spring semester were discussed, including conducting the Startup Kafe on January 29 and the BootCamp between April 16 and 18. In addition, ideas for organizing training sessions and guest speaker panels for the whole semester were discussed. SKEMA Ventures Raleigh Student Committee Officers were elected at the meeting. Hugo Laroche was elected as the president, Jimmy Barre as the vice-president, Zineb Alami Ouali as the communications and publicity officer, and Rajaonarison Harindroso as the program officer.
In Raleigh, SKEMA Ventures benefits from the city’s rich entrepreneurship ecosystem and the Research Triangle area. It has partnerships with HQ Raleigh, a startup incubator and community of entrepreneurs, and NC State University’s E-Clinic, E-Garage, and courses in entrepreneurship. Raleigh has long been associated with innovation as it is part of the larger Research Triangle innovation landscape. In the last few years, Raleigh has emerged as a hotbed of innovation springing out of the local startup community. SKEMA Ventures is excited to play its part in this dynamic and growing entrepreneurial community.
