CRESCENDERS Incubator, one of SKEMA Ventures’ partners based in China, recently organized a workshop in Xuzhou for SKEMA student and entrepreneur Janine Jakob. The event enabled Janine to test the concept of her project on ‘Success and Happiness Coaching’ for Chinese students. Her workshop focused on concepts such as discovering happiness as a success factor: how one can be happy and successful at the same time, finding out about one’s life goals and talents, and how to successfully achieve them.
Janine is a success and happiness coach who specializes in international business relations and intercultural understanding. She started the Happiness Association while studying at SKEMA Business School’s Suzhou campus. Before joining SKEMA, she worked at Hewlett-Packard for around 7 years. Janine is currently working on acquiring a business license and starting a consulting company based in Shanghai with SKEMA Ventures’ assistance. Her objective is to provide training, workshops and keynotes, as well as work as a consultant, to help companies improve their employees’ well-being and attain measurable results that clearly indicate an improvement in the organization’s performance. She believes that happiness and success are intrinsically linked and influence each other and aims at making a global impact through her work. To achieve this, she is searching for the right clients who are open-minded enough to try out something different to achieve happiness and success in their personal and professional lives.

CRESCENDERS, founded by SKEMA alumnus Chali ZHOU (MSc Entrepreneurship & Innovation, 2015), helps companies to set up their business in China by providing support for interpreting sophisticated Chinese policies, local market research, planning the perfect business infrastructure and finding relevant commercial partners in target markets, among other things.
At SKEMA, students have access to a unique opportunity. Since it has campuses in four continents — South America (Belo Horizonte, Brazil), North America (Raleigh, North Carolina), East Asia (Suzhou, China) and Europe (Paris, Lille and Sophia Antipolis, France) — students get to test their projects in diverse international environments and benefit from the SKEMA Ventures’ extensive network and support.
