Innovative business ideas emerge at the Startup Kafe events in France

On October 17, on all the French campuses of SKEMA (Paris, Lille, and Sophia Antipolis), entrepreneurship was in the spotlight during the Startup Kafe events organized by SKEMA Ventures. About 55 entrepreneurial projects were pitched during these entrepreneurial “Happy Hours”.

Impact entrepreneurship was at the heart of the projects presented on themes such as responsible tourism, well-being, cybersecurity, sustainable catering, green mobility, community health, job search, upcycled fashion and sustainable sports equipment.

Student entrepreneurship at its best

The discussions between each pitch session were vibrant and the pitchers benefitted from the ideas, recommendations and advice of student entrepreneurs and alumni incubated by the Venture Factory.

On all of SKEMA’s French campuses, more than 250 participants contributed to this celebration of student entrepreneurship. Each Startup Kafe has been enriched by pitches and sharing of experiences by students from SKEMA’s partner schools and local players in our ecosystems: Centrale Lille, ESIEA, Université Côte d’Azur, INRIA and the PEPITEs.

Upcoming events

If you missed seizing this opportunity to confront your idea “in the field”, don’t worry! The next Startup Kafe will take place on February 6, 2023. Before this, SKEMA Ventures invites all student-entrepreneurs who wish to consolidate their business project to the Bootstrap workshop at the Sophia Antipolis campus from November 21 to 23.

After being organized successfully in Belo Horizonte, Raleigh and Suzhou, these Startup Kafe events have launched the entrepreneurial academic year and are a precursor to the many events and workshops, such as the BOOTSTRAPs, STARTONIC Weekend and BOOTCAMPs, which will mark 2022-2023. All these events are of course open to alumni with an entrepreneurial project. Over 200 projects are incubated and accelerated each year by SKEMA Ventures, and the five-year survival rate of the companies created exceeds 90%. The sky is NOT the limit for startups “made in SKEMA Ventures”.
