The Fundtruck, a national startup contest created by Sowefund to celebrate entrepreneurship and innovation in France, is back with its 5th edition! Its objective is to help French startups increase their visibility and find financing options.
The format of Fundtruck is quite unique: it is a “competition in motion”. It is divided into three stages – the selection round, the regional contest, and the grand finale. This year, a food truck that acts as an investment truck will pass through the cities of Bordeaux, Amiens, Valenciennes, Lille, La Roche sur Yon, Nantes, Saint Nazaire, Marseille, Toulon, Nice, and Paris and its suburbs. Selection process
In the selection round, entrepreneurs with an innovative startup project are invited to submit their ideas. Sowefund and its major partners will select four participants from each city after the evaluation of their registration file. One participant from each city will also be selected through public voting on Sowefund’s website. In all, 75 startups will be selected for the regional contest where they have to pitch in front of a jury. For the next round, 15 startups will be selected – 12 based on their dossier and 3 based on public voting. The upcoming stops of the truck are:
- Pays de la Loire: September 12 and 13 at La Roche-sur-Yon, Nantes and St-Nazaire
- Ile de France: September 17 and 18 in the Paris region
- PACA: September 26 and 27 in Nice, Toulon and Marseille
The finalists will be invited on-board the “food truck” and taken to meet the members of the local entrepreneurship ecosystem – investors, successful entrepreneurs, local elected officials, media… anyone who can help or support the ambitious initiatives.
The entrepreneurs pitch their idea in front of the investors, mentors and the general public and a winner will be selected. The participants stand the chance of obtaining funding between 100,000 and 10 million euros!
